All Felton Angus Beef products are processed in a USDA inspected facility. We ship only on Mondays to ensure delivery by end of week. Please reference the shipping confirmation email that contains tracking number and expected delivery date by carrier.
Your Felton Angus Beef will arrive freshly frozen. To ensure that your order arrives in perfect condition, our products are shipped in a reusable insulated grocery bag and styrofoam container with dry ice. It is normal for the dry ice to have dissipated during shipping. Use protective gloves to handle dry ice, or allow it to dissipate on its own. Avoid contact with bare skin. Your products should be frozen or cool to the touch at time of arrival. Place them into the freezer immediately upon receipt and inspection. If they do not feel cool to the touch upon arrival, please email firstname.lastname@example.org within seven (7) days of receipt, provide a description of the damage, and a photo (s) of the order in the state it was received. Claim filing is time sensitive and photos are required in order to show proof of damage.
You will receive an email confirming your order was placed and shipped. A shipping tracking number will be sent when your order is processed. The billing customer is responsible for ensuring that the recipient will be able available for delivery. It is highly recommended you monitor the package to ensure that it can be received by you or your designated recipient.
Text Messages – if you provide a cell phone number in the checkout process, you will also receive up-to-date text messages throughout the entire shipping process including:

Our goal is to delivery a quality product direct to your doorstep. Text messages enable us to get you up-to-date information throughout the shipping process.
Presently, we only deliver to the continental United States.
All shipments require a street address. Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes. It is the customer’s responsibility to provide and verify the correct shipping address.
Felton Angus Beef is not responsible for damage to the products if recipient is not available to accept the shipment at time of delivery. We ship without required signature to ensure your product arrives in a timely manner. Damage to the products due to an incorrect or incomplete address voids our guarantee.
All products will be shipped via FedEx.
Does somebody need to be home to accept delivery?
Our boxes do not require a signature upon delivery.
Important Information for Business Address:
We recommend that you have the order delivered to your home address to avoid any shipping issues due to the office/business being closed for any reason. We do not have information on when your business is open/closed etc. and are not able to account for this when shipping. Carriers deliver on evenings and weekends are we are not able to guarantee delivery on a certain date or time. Should your package be delivered to a business when it is not open, the carrier will not leave the package and will attempt to deliver the following business day. In the even the delivery date is altered due to business closure we are not able to guarantee the delivery.
How will my order arrive? Is it frozen?
Our beef is flash frozen, individually packaged and labeled at a USDA processing facility. The beef cuts are placed inside a reusable insulated shopping tote, which is surrounded by Styrofoam insulation.
Dry ice is added to the outside of the tote, inside the Styrofoam insulation. The amount of dry ice added is carefully calculated based on your geographic location/delivery time. Orders are shipped in cardboard shipping boxes. The shipping box is printed with the Felton Angus Beef logo and instruction to freeze or refrigerate perishable items.
The beef should arrive frozen or partially frozen with ice crystals still visible or at lease refrigerator cold – below 40 degrees F as measured with a food thermometer.
In the event of a carrier delay or damage to the shipping box that results in your beef arriving warm (above 40 degrees F as measured with a food thermometer) or you feel your order is compromised or unsafe in any way – notify us immediately by emailing email@example.com.
Do not consume or taste suspect food.
What are the shipping rates? Do you deliver to Hawaii, Alaska, or Canada?
We offer flat rate shipping to contiguous 48 states based on your geographic location. We do not ship to Hawaii, Alaska or Canada. We ship via FedEx and flat rates are calculated by geographic location and transit time.
We do not ship outside the contiguous 48 states.
When will my order arrive? Where can I view my shipping information?
We ship only Monday from our Bozeman, Montana cold storage facility. If your order is placed on a Tuesday-Sunday you can expect the order to ship the following Monday in most cases.
We do our best to deliver on weekdays only, but in the event there is a holiday during the shipping week or there is an unforeseen event that causes a delay, we may ship for delivery on a Saturday if this is available in your area. Shipping times are dependent on your zip code and transit time.
Once your order is in transit you will receive an email with the tracking number. You will also receive text message notifications throughout the shipping process to keep you up-to-date on delivery status.
All of our boxes are packaged with a specific amount of dry ice, which is calculated based on your geographic location/transit time. The dry ice may be completely evaporated when delivered on the guaranteed date, but your beef should still be frozen or cold to the touch/at a safe temperature for freezing. Orders are packed to sustain their frozen state up to the guaranteed delivery date.
We recommend that you use your home address for shipping to avoid any shipping issues due to limited business hours and closures due to holidays.
Once your order is in transit you will receive an email with the tracking number and a text message update if cell phone number is provided during checkout.
If you believe your order has shipped and you have not received notification, please check your spam folder.

What if I am not happy with my order/item received?
We strive to provide a great selection of quality product delivered to your door.
If you are not satisfied with the quality of an item received or experience any packaging issues, please email email@example.com with a description of the issue and a photo (s) of the item in question and package label for assessment within 7 days of receipt. If there is a question on items received, we may also need a copy of the packing slip included with the order. Since we are a mail order service and are not able to physically access the product, photos are necessary to help us see what you are experiencing and offer an appropriate resolution which may include replacement of the product in question, credit toward your next order, or a partial/full refund.
My order has shipped, can I make changes?
We are happy to make changes to your order at any time prior to shipping date. If your order has shipped, we are not able to alter the delivery and the order cannot be cancelled as it is perishable.
IMPORTANT: Please note in the event the shipping address is altered once the order is in transit, in most cases at lease one extra business day is added. Due to the perishable nature of our product, we cannot guarantee the condition of the delivery if the address is incorrectly entered, if an address is altered during transit or if you are unable to retrieve the order on the guaranteed delivery date.
How do I safely handle/dispose of the dry ice?
Each order contains dry ice. The bag that contains the dry ice is clearly labeled with the large lettering. In the even that the order is roughly handled and shifting occurs, it is possible for the dry ice to ship and some may fall out of the bag.
Dry temperature is extremely cold at -109.3°F or 78.5°C. You should ALWAYS handle dry ice with care and wear protective cloth or leather gloves whenever touching it. If touched briefly it is harmless, but prolonged contact with skin can freeze cells and cause injury similar to a burn.
Safe handling tips:
• Dispose of unneeded dry ice by letting the unused portion sublimate in a well-ventilated area. Please be sure that you do not leave this in a public area or area where it can be accessed by children or pets.
• You should never dispose of dry ice in a sink, toilet or other device. This can destroy the structure because of the temperature difference.
• Do not place dry ice on a tiled or solid surface counter top as the extreme cold will cause damage.
• Do not dispose of dry ice in the trash or garbage.
Thawing safe handling recommendations
Perishable foods should never be thawed on the counter and must not be left at room temperature for more than two hours.
• Place the item you wish to thaw on a plate with a lip or bowl on the lowest shelf of the refrigerator to ensure that any drippings aren’t spilled onto shelving or food below.
• A pound of ground meat can require a full day to thaw in the refrigerator.
• After thawing in the refrigerator, items such as ground meat and stew meat should remain safe and good quality for an additional day or two before cooking. Red meat cuts (such as roasts steaks) should remain safe and good quality 3 to 5 days.
• Food thawed in the refrigerator can be refrozen without cooking, although there may be some loss of quality.
Cold Water Thawing
• If you forget to thaw your beef for dinner, this method is faster than refrigerator thawing but requires more attention.
• Thawing in cold water, 40 degrees or below, is safe and faster than refrigerator thawing.
• The bag should be submerged in cold tap water, changing the water every 30 minutes so it continues to thaw.
• Small packages of beef (about a pound) may thaw in 1 hour or less.
• A 3 to 4 pound package may take 2 to 3 hours.
• Once thawed food must be cooked immediately and should not be left out.
• Foods thawed by the cold water method should be cooked before refreezing.
